Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to install and configure the Amazon Appstore app on any tablet in Fuhu`s nabi product line.

For those of you wanting to access the Amazon.com Appstore, please begin with Step 1. If you would like to install one of the other regional Appstores from Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain or the United Kingdom, skip down to Step 5.
DO NOT SKIP SETTING THE PARENTAL &
IN-APP PURCHASE CONTROLS.
NOTE: To ensure an error free process, be sure you are using the Browser app and not the Maxthon Mobile Browser, as your default internet browser.
Also if you are already using the Amazon Appstore on another Android device or have an Amazon.com account for product purchases, be sure to log in with same account. This will allow you to install compatible apps that you've already
paid for and prevent the need to manage multiple accounts. These can be accessed under My Apps and then selecting the Cloud option.
Be sure to take advantage of Amazon's Free App of the Day, everyday! If
the free app is kid-friendly, I list them on the Fan-a-Tech Scott & nabi Tablet Facebook pages.
Finally, to ensure that there are no unwanted or unexpected apps purchased and installed from the Amazon Appstore, it is highly recommended that you install and setup the Application Protection app.
Installing the Amazon.com Appstore:
1. Login to Mommy/Daddy
Mode.
2. Click on the Fan-a-Tech
app.
3. Click on the Get the Amazon
Appstore link. NOTE: If the Fan-a-Tech link is not working, launch the Browser app and type Amazon Appstore apk in the
address bar, then hit ENTER.
4. Click on Download Now and
skip down to Step 8.
Installing Other Regional Amazon Appstores:
5. Login to Mommy/Daddy Mode.
6. Launch the Browser app.
7. Type everythingnabi into the address bar and hit
the Enter key.

shown on the right of the blog, under Popular Posts and scroll down to Step 7.
7. Click on the appropriate Amazon App Shop link for the region you live in to

App Shop (Italy), Amazon.co.jp Appstore (Japan), Amazon.es App Shop (Spain), Amazon.co.uk Appstore (United

Installing continued...
8. Click on the Download Arrow in the bottom
right corner.
9. Click on the Amazon_Appstore-release.apk -
Download Complete.
10. Click on
the Install option at the bottom.
11. Click the Open option at the bottom, when the
installation has completed.
12. Enter
the your e-mail
address and password, if you have an existing Amazon.com account.
If you don't have an account, please skip down to Steps 42 - 44.
13. Click
the Sign-In button.
Setting Parental Controls:
The first thing you'll want to enable after successfully logging
in to the store, are the Parental
Controls, to ensure that In-App Purchases are
disabled.
CAUTION: Any time you update the Amazon Appstore app you will need to go through this process again.

14. Click the Menu soft key.
15. Click the Settings option.
16. Click on Parental Controls.
17. Check the Enable Parental Controls option, to require your Amazon.com password or PIN in order to purchase in-app items.

If you've purchased apps from Amazon.com in the past, these can be easily accessed and reinstalled on the nabi Tablet.

To make the newly installed apps available for your child in nabi
Mode, perform the following steps.
35. Click on the Add Apps app in
Parent Mode.
36. Check the apps that you'd like to make available in nabi Mode.
37. Uncheck the apps that you'd
like to remove from nabi Mode.
38. Back out of Add Apps by hitting the Back soft key.
39. Click the nabi
Mode app, to launch nabi Mode.
40. Click the All Apps icon, the six squares in the top right
corner, to access the full list of available apps in nabi Mode.
41. Click and hold on the app that you'd like
to put on the Home Screen and position it in an open space.
Creating an Amazon.com Account:
42. If you do not have an existing account, rotate the nabi Tablet into portrait mode, if required, to see the Create an Account button.
43. Click on the Create an Account button.
44. Walk through the process of setting up your account by adding your e-mail address, creating a password, adding a Credit Card or Gift Card for app purchases. Once completed, back out of the Browser
app and return to Step 12.

Make sure that you have a credit card assigned to your account, in order to "purchase" free apps.
Is there any way to watch Amazon Prime videos on the Nabi 2?
I'm really interested in getting a nabi 2 for my daughter's birthday but don't want to be restricted of apps because of being located in Canada.

No. You may be able to view them through a web browser, but Amazon has not made the app available to other Android devices, just their Kindle Fire product line.

great step by step instructions! Storia worked, netflix worked.... I do have a problem that I cannot seem to figure out. We are using our PC to store apps. We have 2 nabi 2 devices. I cannot seem to share apps between devices... what am I doing wrong? Netflix will not allow me to download onto both devices - it says that I have already downloaded it. It appears in the apps on the PC version, but will not show up on the second device. Please help! :-)

How are you moving apps between the PC and tablet?

Thanks for the step-by-step instructions on installing the Amazon app! I bought my child the Nabi 2 because of the wonderful things I had heard about the support from Nabi and its fans!! After only a few days, I already can see I made the right choice.
Works great...it has all of the apps you can get on Kindle and most of the Google Play apps. This turns the Nabi so even when you kids out grow the "babyish" games and apps, you can download other apps like Angry Birds Star Wars, the old X-Men arcade game, etc. My kids were totally bored of the regular games and this brought it to a whole other level. When my kids go to bed I can use this just like a Kindle or Ipad, but this is more powerful than an Ipad or Kindle. Im just annoyed it took me since August to figure this out.
Doesnt work from ireland because my credit card is no supported I have been using amazon.co.uk for years now no problem purchasing stuff on my card just wont work on Nabi tired..... :-(

Do into Daddy Mode > Settings > Apps > Appstore > Clear Data. This will reset the app so that you have to sign in again to whatever account you want.

I am also having difficulty with the amazon app. I have entered a cc on the amazon site and each time I try to download I get the error to go and enter payment. I even changed my cc number. Am I missing a step? Trying to get this set up before Christmas! Thanks!
For the above comment, I reinstalled the app and made sure to logon with my Amazon account. Seems to have fixed the issues.

Well since Amazon removed access to Canadians last year without explanation and then skipped over us again this past fall when they expanded into France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, I wouldn't hold your breath.
You have full access to purchase apps through the nabi App Zone.
This is just a non-supported method for Canadian parents to get free apps that are not in the nabi App Zone. If you don't want to go through the process, no one is forcing you to.

I went to the browser in mommy mode and found it, added it to nabimode web but the screen just stays black on it. Then I heard that I was to download amazon apps, which i did, then the youtube di (so that I could dowload videos to youtube). I download them but they stay in the app--and again I don't want my child to be able to get to that app...I only want him to see the videos that I choose for him to see. HOW can I do this? The street address must not fall under as an acceptable address for Amazon.
NOTE: If Amazon does not accept the address that you provide, you can fine tune it by using Google Maps, locating the town and zip code and choosing an address. As nothing can be billed or shipped using this account, it doesn't manner what it is, as long as it exists.

OMG! :) No the Amazon Appstore is located under the All Apps icon at the top right corner of the tablet. (Six dots) Click and hold on the Amazon Appstore app and you can position it on your home screen.

All you need to do is clear data on the Amazon Appstore app and you'll be able to resign in using the other account.
Mommy Mode > Settings > Apps > All > Appstore > Clear Data.

I followed the parental controls for the in-app purchases. How do I disable the ability for my child to buy new apps? for example, I purchased an Amazon app and it comes with an option to purchase additional apps from this developer. I assumed that if my child clicked on this that he would be blocked from purchasing, but he was not. Is there a way to disable the Amazon one-click mechanism or log out of the Amazon app?

The In-App Purchase control only prevents coins, energy, etc. for the specific game to be blocked. If the 3rd party app that you've installed and given them access to is able to launch the Amazon Appstore, then it has no prevention from allowing them to purchase apps. This is a flaw in implementation with the Amazon Appstore app, not something that can be addressed by Fuhu.
If this is the case, then the 3rd party app should be uninstalled.

Your logic is not incorrect, as this is how most markets work, just not the Amazon Appstore. Their controls are only for In-App purchases of coins, energy, etc. If the 3rd party app you've installed for your kids to play in nabi Mode, provides them access to the Amazon Appstore, then you'll want to uninstall it.

i'm having trouble with the parental controls for the amazon apps. i checked the boxes to "enable parental controls" and "use pin" and set up a pin but i can still go and purchase an app without having to enter a password. anybody know how to solve this? i don't want to end up with a huge bill when my kids figure out how to work this!

I have downloaded the amazon app store and a few apps from there for both of my kids nabis. But the Kindle app is not working correctly. It works for a while then shuts down the Nabi (actually makes it shut down into sleep mode). The only way to use the Nabi after that is to restart it. I have cleared data on the app, uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing seems to help. Using it as an e-reader is the reason we bought the tablets. Nabi cares told me to call amazon and amazon then told me to call Nabi. Any suggestions? Please help!
I got the Amazon Appstore installed and working properly. However, they seem to have a poor selection of available appp's. I cannot even get apps for newspapers like USA Today and Centre Daily Times. These apps are available on google and Apple.

Not all apps that can be installed on the tablet, work in nabi Mode. Ice Age Village is a classic example of this.
